Who are we?

The Manchester General Surgeon provides a comprehensive, expert diagnostic and treatment service for a wide aspect of surgical procedure. We treat a wide range of disorders associated with the intestines and in particular those related to the colon and rectum.

With over 30 years’ experience of successfully diagnosing and treating bowel cancer, we also provide upper/lower gastrointestinal endoscopy, keyhole hernia surgery, fibre-optic (advanced keyhole) ‘laparoscopic’ surgery, gall bladder surgery, inflammatory bowel disease and ground-breaking treatment for haemorrhoids and other colorectal disorders. Minimal access ‘keyhole’ surgery is available for most conditions related to abdominal organs including the small intestines, for gallstones, complex diseases of the liver and pancreas as well as hernias.

We specialise in innovative procedures and were the first centre in the north west of the country to perform new techniques such as the Haemorrhoidal Artery Ligation Operation (HALO) and the new revolutionary Rafaelo Procedure for safe and effective treatment for the instant removal of piles.
