Mo Saeed is a highly experienced consultant surgeon specialising in general and colorectal surgery. He treats a wide range of disorders associated with the intestines and in particular those related to the colon and rectum. These include colon cancer, haemorrhoids, hernias and gallbladder surgery.
Having graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Anatomy and a medical degree from Manchester University, Mr Saeed undertook surgical training in Manchester and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) of England in 1992. Following further specialist training in colorectal surgery in Manchester in 1999, he was awarded a Doctorate of Medicine (MD) research degree from the University of Manchester. During the same year he gained the intercollegiate Fellowship in General Surgery, FRCS (Gen-Surg).
Mr Saeed was appointed Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust in 2001, where was Clinical Lead for Colorectal Cancer Surgery and Clinical Director for General Surgery.
He is heavily involved in the teaching and training of both junior doctors and new surgeons. Alongside these roles, he also runs a successful private practice consulting at BMI The Alexandra Hospital (Cheadle), The Spire Regency Hospital (Macclesfield) and The Wilmslow Hospital, as well as being part of a collaboration of surgeons known as Surgical Care Specialists providing a comprehensive service with expertise in all area of general surgery.
Mr Saeed was the first in Manchester, to routinely perform the HALO for the treatment of haemorrhoids and one of a small handful of surgeons in the north west who is trained to perform the new Rafaelo procedure.
He also runs a national training centre providing training to other consultant surgeons in the haemorrhoid surgery techniques.
